A New Addition to the Shelf
Introducing My Little Greek Book of Shapes
There’s something so special about the moment when little ones begin to notice the world around them: their favorite objects, how things fit together, and how to interact with it all.
These small discoveries feel simple, but they’re the building block on how our kids begin to understand just about everything.
And it’s this phase of making connections that inspired the newest addition to our collection: My Little Greek Book of Shapes.
I created this book as a playful, thoughtful way to help little learners explore shapes within the world around them while being gently introduced to the Greek language. Like the rest of our books, it’s designed to feel inviting and something your family will reach for again and again.
The Inspiration Behind the Book
Shapes just felt like a natural next step in our series.
They’re everywhere in a child’s everyday life, and it felt like a great entry point for both concept learning and language. It also felt like a topic that many of us “in-between” Greek speakers didn’t really focus on much in Greek School, so it would be a perfect companion to fill a need in homes and on shelves.
I also wanted to keep the spirit of our other books alive, making something that didn’t feel overly instructional, but could meet children where they already are.
What Makes This Book Special
Rather than just teaching shapes in isolation, each one is paired with a familiar everyday object. This helps children make real-world connections, reinforcing both the concepts, application, and language.
And like all of our other books, the shapes and objects are displayed alongside the word in Greek, English, and phonetics to make the content approachable and intuitive. The simple and clean Montessori-inspired design makes it easy for little minds to absorb without distraction.
Why Focus on Early Language Exposure
You don’t need to be fluent to start teaching your child a second language. You don’t even need to “teach” in a formal way.
Early exposure is all about familiarity and repetition. Hearing the words, seeing them, and slowly building that recognition over time. Our books simply act as tool, providing a tangible way to weave language learning into your daily routines in a simple and accessible way.
We also know that every family looks different.
Some families have caregivers that don’t speak Greek, and we wanted a way to make them feel included by helping them become a part of this early learning process too. That’s why including phonetics has always been an important part of our design.
A Little Gift for You
To celebrate the upcoming release, we’ve created a small set of coloring pages to go along with the book.
They’re a fun, hands-on way for your little one to start exploring shapes while getting a sneak peek into some of the words they’ll see in the book.
You can download them by joining the list, and you’ll be the first to know when My Little Greek Book of Shapes is officially available.
This series has always been about creating meaningful, beautiful books that feel just as at home on your shelf as they do in my own home.
I can’t wait for My Little Greek Book of Shapes to become part of your everyday moments, too.
Our little library keeps on growing, and I’m so glad to have you along for the journey!
